Who is behind MiniBall?

MiniBall is an initiative of the Hills Junior Baseball Association, an affiliate of Baseball NSW and the Australian Baseball Federation.

We have been delivering quality administration to the junior arm (players aged 15 years and younger) of baseball for over two decades.

Hills Juniors have been among this country's most successful regional associations for most of the time we've existed.
We have won the inter-district Sydney competitions in all three age groups (U/12, U/14 and U/16) more often than any other Regional Association, and we have seen many of our Juniors go on to professional baseball, with several involved in the US Major Leagues over the last 20 years.

However, we're not just focused on the elite. We also run holiday camps and in-season development programmes for children from 9 to 13: we're proud of our Koala League (Sydney's only dedicated baseball activity for children and young people with disabilities): and we send about 40 kids each year overseas on cultural exchange tours via the NSW Junior Baseball League.

So why should I care?

Hills Juniors provides an ideal governing framework for MiniBall. We are a non-profit Incorporated Association, which means that every dollar we make gets pumped back into the sport. All officials are volunteers, so there's no salary overhead. Governance of the organisation lies with its eleven member clubs, who elect an Executive Committee each year.

However, although we're a volunteer group, the people on the ground doing the work are experienced, professional and diligent. We bring the benefits of countless decades of experience with the sport itself, with managing junior activities, and with administration.

This means we have resources such as this website {among others}: we publish a written ChildSafe Policy: we have an extensive library of other documentation: Association minutes are published each month: newsletters are issued at least once a month: and we generally pride ourselves on transparency and professionalism in everything we do.

Very, very few other baseball organisations in this country deliver services equal to those from Hills, nor are there many who function as efficiently and effectively.

As MiniBall catches on, as we're sure it is doing, everyone involved can rest assured that the programme is in good hands.
